  • Overview

    The Account Manager - Industrial Controls is responsible for expanding the industrial controls business including Concrete Batching Controls, engineering services, the panel shop, and solutions.


    • Prospect for new customers and maintaining relationships with existing customers. Must be willing to make cold calls by phone.
    • Follow up on leads generated through marketing campaigns and trade show opportunities.
    • Attend tool and product shows quarterly.
    • Conduct site surveys and estimate projects.
    • Estimate industrial controls solutions per plans/specification requirements and owner-direct opportunities.
    • Write scope proposals based on estimates.
    • Help promote service agreements for Concrete Batch products.
    • Establish relationships with end users, key contractors, and engineers.
    • Assist in the development of future sales goals.
    • Track sales activities and forecast sales opportunities in CRM.
    • Promote, as appropriate, cross-sales opportunities to include: mechanical, plumbing, electrical, building automation, fire, security systems, and monitoring.
    • Managing projects within budgetary and time constraints.
    • Closing out job with maximum profitability and customer satisfaction.

    Working Conditions:

    • Performance of duties in the office and job site and the percentage of time spent in either place will vary, but is estimated to be 80% office and 20% offsite within the Twin Cities metropolitan area. Occasional travel is required out of state due to proximity of customer base and tool and product shows.
    • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time.
    • Egan office normal operating hours are 7:00am to 5:00pm. An eight-hour workday plus lunchtime will be allotted between those two times


    Position Requirements:

    • HMI, PLC, and Rockwell products
    • Concrete, pre-cast and batching products.
    • Industrial Controls

    Minimum Qualifications:


    Required: Bachelor's Degree and two years of experience OR High School diploma and four to six years of strong, relevant experience within any of the following:

    • Operation of manufacturing/production equipment
    • Technical sales experience
    • Engineering Applications

    - Self-Directed/Independent.

    - Working knowledge of current estimating processes and procedures.

    - Ability to present to both internal and external groups.

    - Ability to learn and promote other areas of the business.

    - Proficient in the use of standard office computer programs such as Word, Excel, and Google Suite of Office products.

    - Proficient in the use of standard office equipment to include telephone, copier, and fax.

    - Strong organizational skills to deal with competing customer needs.

    - Strong negotiation skills required.
