    Egan Company is looking for a Safety Intern at our corporate headquarters located in Brooklyn Park, MN. This position has a flexible start and end date for a 12-week internship.

    The Safety Intern is responsible assisting in developing and implementing all aspects of the health and safety function.  The individual should bring a high level of energy to the business. A large amount of latitude is attached to this position and purposeful creativity is expected.

    • Responsible for assisting in the aligning and implementing Egan Company Health and Safety Programs and loss prevention initiatives.
    • Assist and learn how to establish loss prevention goals and objectives and incorporate into the annual business plan
    • Aid in communication and collaboration with Egan Company staff with respect to loss prevention goals, objectives and key performance indicators.
    • Help with exploring, researching and adapting new products, programs and/or technology that will further enhance the company’s lost prevention performance.
    • Observe and learn how to develop field personnel through coaching, feedback, and continued training activities to assist in building the skills necessary to execute loss prevention activities.
    • Support in maintaining regulatory compliance with all State and Federal regulations
    • Learn and retain how to perform frequent job site evaluations, determine employee exposure(s) and institute acceptable work practices.


    • In progress for Undergraduate or Masters Degree in Safety-Related degree program.
    • 3.0 GPA or higher given priority consideration.
    • Interest and ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external customers.
    • Willingness to learn new ideas and concepts.
    • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and projects concurrently
    • Possess excellent communication skills and the ability to work with all levels of internal and external customers.


    Working Environment

    • Performance of duties will be blended between office, fabrications shops and construction projects
    • Climbing ladders/stairs, uneven ground, bending, kneeling, and twisting are frequent needs
    • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time.
