    Egan Company is seeking a Preconstruction/Business Development Associate – Electrical for our Electrical Group located in Brooklyn Park, MN.

    The Preconstruction/Business Development Associate - Electrical is responsible for the timely, accurate, and consistent estimates of Electrical projects to include, but not limited to: distribution, power, lighting and systems. In addition, this role focuses on developing business by fostering and building strong relationships with prospective and current clients.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop plan & spec and design build estimates; heavy design build
    • Develop and communicate the trade specific scope of work
    • Review all architectural, structural, mechanical, and specialty systems drawing and specifications
    • Compile a list of necessary subcontractors/scopes
    • Attend pre-bid conferences and walkthroughs
    • Enter take-offs into Accubid/Enterprise 7 estimating system
    • Assist in the development of budget estimates
    • Review project schedule and phasing requirements
    • Understand plan for constructability: material handling, pre-fabrication, means and methods, risk identification
    • Identify general condition needs: tools required, equipment rentals, lifts, etc.
    • Participate in project turnover and setup, post project reviews, and design meetings with customers until GMP
    • Participate in Business Development activities which includes, but is not limited to, taking clients to breakfast, lunch, dinner, sporting events, concerts, trips, etc.
    • Spend time with prospective and current clients to not only foster business relationships, but to also build/maintain friendships

    Qualifications

    • Two year degree or applicable vocational technical certificate
    • Minimum 6 years’ of estimating experience in related industry
    • Ability to read and interpret electrical specifications and drawings
    • Working knowledge of codes in the electrical discipline
    • Proficient in the use of standard office computer programs such as MS Project, Google G Suite Applications, PDF File Editor Programs, Word, and Excel
