    Egan Company is looking for a Controls Engineer Intern at our corporate headquarters located in Champlin, MN. This position will be within our Industrial Controls group. This position has a flexible start and end date for a 12 week internship.


    The Controls Engineer Intern will assist senior engineers in a manufacturing environment with designing, retrofitting and testing process controls in the office and at Egan Customer sites.

    The Controls Engineer Intern has the opportunity to learn about and shadow experienced professions in the following:

    • Involvement in the Design and engineering of a variety of manufacturing/process control systems that integrate new and existing hardware/software for complete and functional operation, maintain, troubleshoot and repair customer’s control system as required.
    • Assist in programming a wide array of industry leader’s PLC, HMI, MsSQL, SCADA, VB, SERVO, and VFD.
    • Exposure to a variety of platforms that utilize Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider, Wonderware, Intellution, and UL 508A control panel construction/design requirements.



    • Required: At least 4-6 semesters toward Four-year BS Engineering degree with exposure to design and programming and/or Controls.
    • A versatile candidate that can work within a dynamic team environment and be able to work with a variety of customers to design and program a wide variety of industrial control systems will ideally complete this new hire position.
    • Strong organizational skills to deal with competing customer needs.
    • Possess excellent communication skills and the ability to work with all levels of internal and external customers

    Working Environment

    • Performance of duties will mostly be in the office.  Visits to job sites as needed.
