  • Overview

    Egan Company is seeking candidates for a CAD Technician position on its Curtainwall / Metal Panel Construction Team located in Champlin, MN. This individual would develop detailed CAD drawings of systems and parts to be used in purchasing and installation of Curtainwall / Metal Panel systems.


    • Drafting all system-specific details of Curtainwall / Metal Panel systems, including all submittal drawings, shop drawings, and parts drawings using CAD and/or Revit
    • Assisting in analyzing Curtainwall / Metal Panel drawings specifications and related data to determine design requirements


    • Two-year degree or Vo-Tech certificate and/or four year related to drafting with an AutoCAD focus (Design, CAD, Revit)
    • Ability to read and interpret specs and blueprints; Proficient in the use of CAD/Revit – intermediate to advanced proficiency
    • Minimum 1 year of experience with Revit. Specific Revit skills include: 
    • Visibility / graphics: Set up views to show appropriate elements
    • Family functionality: Understand and effectively use family types, instance parameters, and type parameters
    • Annotation techniques: Efficiently annotate with tags and text
    • View templates: Can create, modify, and utilize
    • View filters: Can create, modify, and utilize basic filters
    • Revit schedules: Can manipulate and troubleshoot schedules, create basic schedules to edit model elements or retrieve model information
    • 3D coordination: Able to identify and resolve spatial conflicts
    • 3D modeling: Able to accurately place families in a 3D model
    • Knowledge of Curtainwall / Metal Panel basics; experience in a design role in the Curtainwall / Metal Panel industry is highly preferred
    • Ability to read architectural drawings and specifications
    • Proficient in the use of Google Suite
    • Strong organizational skills with a knack to deal with competing customer needs
    • Ability to communicate with team members and others – written and verbal
